Phnom Penh – March 21, 2025 – SBI LY HOUR Bank today announced significant achievements in its continued growth and commitment to serving customers and the public in the Kingdom of Cambodia. In 2020, the bank began as a strong financial institution with assets of $243.8 million, loans of $196.9 million, and deposits of $118.7 million. LY HOUR Microfinance Institution also received a commercial banking license from the National Bank of Cambodia, expanded to 45 branches nationwide, employed 1,157 staff, and provided financial services to over 33,000 customers. Additionally, the bank upgraded its branches and deployed ATMs/CRMs nationwide, while also launching money transfer and leasing services.
In 2021, the bank accelerated digitalization by launching mobile banking and adding QR payment capabilities to its mobile platform. In 2022, the bank expanded its services by launching Visa cards and KHQR. In 2023, the bank strengthened its capital to $100 million, up from $75 million, and implemented the T24 core banking system (Phase 1). In 2024, the bank fully modernized its system by transitioning entirely to the T24 core banking system and launched Cambodia's Visa first Multi-Currency Card.
As of February 2025, the bank has achieved substantial growth with assets of $1.102 billion, loans of $841 million, deposits of $826 million, over 138,000 customers, and 1,379 employees.
